Brandeis becomes Test Optional
As reported by Bob Schaeffer, Public Education Director for FairTest, as of July 1, 2013, U.S.residents seeking undergraduate admission to Brandeis University “are not required to submit standardized test scores.” The school labels this a “test-flexible” policy, though ACT/SAT scores appear to be optional for all such applicants
For those who pay attention to such factors, Brandeis is currently listed as #33 among national universities by U.S. New & World Report, joining nearly 150 other test-optional or test-flexible schools ranked in the top tiers of their respective categories by the magazine.

Brandeis will soon be added to FairTest’s Test Score Optional List of “Schools That Do Not Use SAT or ACT Scores for Admitting Substantial Numbers of Students Into Bachelor Degree Programs” (http://www.fairtest.org/university/optional). That free, online directory now attracts 275,000 unique visitors per year — a PDF version is also available on the website.
